In Illinois there is a law named the Illinois Controlled Substance Actwhich prohibits the possession, the possession with the intent to deliver, and the delivery of certain Controlled Substances including Ecstasy. There are various consequences and penalties for different levels and severity of violations of the Act based on quantity or the intent to deliver, or where the cocaine was delivered. in Illinois an individual can be charged based on either the weight of the substance containing Ecstasy or the number of objects containing the Ecstasy, or under both theories. There are also federal laws that prohibit similar conduct as prohibited in Illinois.
